This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Islamic Studies Doctorate degree program. Through this course, students will gain a thorough understanding of the major topics and themes within Islamic Studies, as well as an understanding of how to apply knowledge gained in their research projects. Students will acquire the necessary skillsets to develop detailed research proposals and complete their thesis. Topics covered throughout the curriculum include: Quranic studies, Hadith and Sunnah, Islamic Law (Shariah), Islamic History and Culture, and a range of contemporary issues related to Islam. In addition, students will be able to engage with various professors from different departments in order to gain insight into the current debates within Islamic Studies.

This course is designed to assist students in the preparation of their dissertation research proposal.
